Who wants pizza? I love pizza! And I must thank the genius who invented this piece of heaven. By the way, speaking of the one who invented pizza, did you know that there are a lot of questions as to where it originated?

Some says the Persian army around the 5th and 6th centuries used their shields to cook flat bread in this way out in the field. However, many argue that these ancient forms of making pizza aren’t truly the pizza we think of it.

The word pizza was first documented in 997 AD in Gaeta and successively in different parts of Central and Southern Italy. The forerunner of pizza was probably the focaccia, a flat bread known to the Romans as panis focacius, to which toppings were then added. But we are not here to talk about the history of pizza. We are here to make and eat pizza to our delight!

Today, I am going to share to you how to prepare a Pepperoni Pizza. Fresh-from-the-oven pizza in 25 minutes! It doesn’t get any more delicious than this. I’m so excited to share this to you so here’s what you should do and need to get ready.

pepperoni pizza

Ingredients:

Cornmeal

1 can (13.8 oz.) Pillsbury refrigerated classic pizza crust or 1 can (11 oz.) refrigerated thin pizza crust

½ cup sliced pepperoni

1 can pizza sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Now that you have all the ingredients needed, we can now proceed with the steps on making pizza. It’s just as easy as counting one, two, three!

Step one:

Using classic crust: heat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Smidgeon cornmeal on 12 inches’ square pizza stone. Unroll dough on pizza stone. Starting at the center, press dough into 12 inches’ square, making ½ inch rim.

Using thin crust: heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease 15 by 10 inches or larger dark or nonstick cookie sheet. Sprinkle or smudge on cornmeal on cookie sheet. Unroll dough on cookie sheet. Then, starting at the center, press dough into 15 by 10 inches’ rectangle.

Step two:

Spread the 1 can pizza sauce over crust to within ½ inch of edges. Get the sliced pepperoni and mozzarella cheese and place it on top of the crust. You can then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. This gets so yummy already! I can’t wait to have it done so I can savor my favorite pizza.

Step three:

Classic crust: bake for 14 to 18 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

Thin crust: bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

Step four:

Cut into 4 servings and eat!

I hope you find this article very helpful in making your own homemade Pepperoni Pizza. You can experiment and customize toppings if you want, like adding your favorite toppings such as bell pepper, chopped onions and cooked Italian sausage. I am pretty sure you are going to make this great pizza even better. And oh, by the way, I have tried one time using leftover spaghetti sauce instead of pizza sauce. The verdict? It’s delicious too.
